On April 10, 2026, the China Science Evaluation Research Center of Wuhan University and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Services Technology in Digital Publishing released the “China Applied Journal Evaluation Research Report (2025 Edition)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”). “Urban Gas” was included in the CACJ Chinese Applied Core (Extended) Journals, becoming the first journal in the urban gas industry to be so listed.
The Report employs a classified-comparison and multi-dimensional evaluation approach. Based on the full-cycle knowledge service ecosystem of applied journals, it proposes the PCSR model for evaluating applied journals, constructs a Chinese-characteristic, comprehensive, systematic, and scientifically viable evaluation framework for such journals, and establishes an interactive, multi-stakeholder participation mechanism. The report evaluates applied journals in China, covering 17 major industrial categories and 3 comprehensive categories, and systematically identifies 80 authoritative applied journals, 341 core applied journals, and 457 core (extended) applied journals.
The journal “Urban Gas” was founded in 1992. It is the official publication of the China City Gas Association and a comprehensive, guidance-oriented academic periodical in the gas industry. The journal has been successfully included in the CACJ—China Applied Core (Extended) Journals, marking another authoritative recognition of its practical value within the industry, its professional guidance capabilities, and its overall editorial quality.
