Submission Guidelines

1. Scope of content: experiences and research on urban gas planning and design, transmission and distribution supply, safety management, and equipment production; discussions and exchanges on management operations such as business services and enterprise restructuring; promotion and application of new technologies in gas sources, transmission and distribution, combustion, and application; construction and development trends of urban gas in various regions; information and advanced technologies of foreign gas development, etc.
2. Manuscripts should have clear arguments, reliable evidence, accurate data, and concise writing. Advertising-style promotional content should be avoided, and attention must be paid to protecting state and corporate secrets. Authors are solely responsible for their articles.
3. Any paper submitted to Urban Gas is deemed to grant this journal the rights of compilation, extraction, and adaptation of the article, and all published papers will be released in online and CD editions. The copyright usage fee for authors and the remuneration from this journal are paid in a lump sum, with the remuneration standard being 50 CNY per 1 000 Chinese characters. If authors disagree, please declare it upon submission; otherwise, it will be considered as consent.
4. Please do not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals. The manuscript review is generally completed within 3–5 months. Authors can log into the website of Urban Gas to check the review progress of their manuscripts.

Manuscript Review Process

Formatting and Requirements

1. This journal only accepts submissions in Word documents, with a single-column portrait layout (do not format as double columns) and a line spacing of “1.5 lines”. The Chinese text font should be SimSun. The paper length should be controlled within 6 000 Chinese characters (including the title, names, affiliations, abstract, main text, and the charts and formulas therein, as well as the translated parts such as references and English title and abstract). The plagiarism rate should be controlled within 10%.
2. Title format:

(Note: ① For three-character names, the characters are arranged closely without spaces, and for two-character names, a space is left in between. ② Different authors are separated by commas. ③ Affiliation serial numbers are marked in the upper right corner of the names)
Note: The number and order of the signed authors are determined by the authors themselves, and the number of authors generally does not exceed 4. If changes are required after submission, a formal letter must be provided.

3. Abstract: The writing of the abstract should include four elements, namely “objective, methods, results, and conclusion”. The journal requires it to be no less than 200 Chinese characters. The abstract, introduction, and conclusion must not be written similarly or identically.
4. Keywords: 4–9 keywords are required, separated by semicolons.

6. All measurement units involved in the manuscript must be expressed using legal measurement units.
7. Figures: Text should precede the figures. Figures should have figure numbers and titles, which should be placed below the figures.
   Tables: Text should precede the tables. Tables should have table numbers and titles, which should be placed above the tables.
   Requirements for illustrations: The figure width should be 8 cm or 16 cm, and the height can be determined by the author. The annotation text in the figures should be in size 6 SimSun font, and the language must be Chinese (table requirements: the table text should be in size 6 SimSun font) for table notes.

Type of Peer Review

  Single-blind peer review. In this process, the identities of the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, while the authors’ identities are disclosed to the reviewers. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to the reviewers in the relevant fields for review. Reviewers are required to provide written feedback regarding the manuscript’s academic value, data authenticity, and the rigor and scientific soundness of its structure, in accordance with the journal’s review guidelines.

Publishing Ethics

1. Ethical Requirements for Authors
(1) Manuscript content must be scientific and accurate, compliant with all relevant national laws and regulations, and free from classified information. If the manuscript involves confidential materials, the author’s affiliated institution must provide a certificate of non-disclosure.
(2) Authors must guarantee that the submitted manuscript represents original research. Acts of academic misconduct, including duplicate submission, redundant publication, plagiarism, and data fabrication, are strictly prohibited.
(3) All author names and affiliations must comply with the journal’s requirements and cannot be arbitrarily added or removed.
(4) Authors should make every effort to avoid potential conflicts of interest arising from the publication of their results. Relevant funding sources related to the study should be clearly disclosed in the manuscript.
(5) Authors are expected to respect the opinions of the reviewers. In the event of disagreement, authors may submit a formal appeal to the editorial office.

2. Ethical Requirements for Peer Reviewers
(1) Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts in a timely manner and provide specific feedback. If unable to fulfill their duties within the specified timeframe, they should promptly inform the editorial office of the reason for the delay and the expected completion date.
(2) Reviewers should respect the authors’ research contributions and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts involving potential conflicts of interest, including competitive, collaborative, or other relevant relationships. Reviews should be objective, impartial, scientific, and accurate, and should not contain discourteous, derogatory, or personally offensive remarks.
(3) Reviewers should assess whether the data used in the study are appropriately sourced. If plagiarism, duplicate submission, or other forms of academic misconduct are suspected, they should immediately notify the editor.
(4) Reviewers are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts under review. They shall not circulate or discuss the manuscript with others, nor shall they misuse the authors’ research findings.
(5) Reviewers should recuse themselves from the review process if they have any competitive, collaborative, or other conflicts of interest with the authors, their institutions, or other relevant organizations.

3. Ethical Requirements for Publishers
(1) The publisher shall adhere to the principles of objectivity, fairness, and integrity throughout the publication process. All submitted manuscripts shall be evaluated impartially on the basis of their academic merit and practical value.
(2) The publisher shall respect authors’ academic independence and intellectual property rights, adhering strictly to confidentiality principles. Both the identities and personal information of authors and peer reviewers, and the unpublished research content of submitted manuscripts, shall be treated as confidential.
(3) The publisher shall give due consideration to the opinions of peer reviewers while respecting authors' right to appeal editorial decisions. To ensure a fair and impartial review process, requests from authors to exclude specific reviewers shall be carefully considered by the editor.
(4) The publisher shall ensure that manuscripts are processed in a timely manner, provide authors with detailed revision suggestions or clear reasons for rejection, and make publication decisions as promptly as possible. Manuscripts that satisfy the journal's publication standards should be published online and in print without unnecessary delay.
(5) The publisher has the responsibility to investigate and address academic misconduct. Upon receiving any allegations of academic misconduct regarding manuscripts under review or published articles, effective measures must be taken immediately.

4. Handling of Academic Misconduct
  This journal defines academic misconduct in accordance with the latest national standard, Academic Publishing Norms—Definition of Academic Misconduct in Journals (CY/T 174—2019). Academic misconduct includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, inappropriate authorship, duplicate submission, redundant publication, and violations of research ethics. Manuscripts involving academic misconduct will be handled seriously. The journal reserves the right to hold the responsible authors accountable in accordance with relevant regulations and is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
  During the initial editorial screening, all submitted manuscripts are examined using the Academic Misconduct Literature Detection System for Scientific and Technical Journals provided by CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) to identify textual similarity and help prevent academic misconduct.
  Any manuscript found to involve academic misconduct at any stage of the editorial or peer-review process will be rejected immediately. If academic misconduct is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and the authors will be held accountable in accordance with relevant regulations and the Copyright Transfer Agreement signed by the authors. In cases of serious misconduct, such as deliberate duplicate submission, the journal reserves the right to refuse future submissions from the authors concerned.

Submission Guidelines

1. Content scope: Development dynamics information of various branches of the gas association and local gas associations; dynamics of urban gas construction and development in various regions; information on the gas construction and development dynamics of association member units.
2. The manuscript should be timely, authentic, and complete, with accurate data and concise text. Advertising-style promotional content should be avoided, and attention should be paid to keeping state and corporate secrets. Authors are solely responsible for their articles.
3. Submitting a manuscript to Urban Gas implies that the journal has the right to compile, excerpt, and adapt the article, and the published information will be fully published in online and CD versions. The author’s copyright usage fee and the journal’s remuneration will be paid in a lump sum. If the author does not agree, a declaration should be made upon submission; otherwise, consent will be assumed.
4. Authors are requested to keep their own draft copies; manuscripts will not be returned regardless of whether they are published. The progress of the manuscript review can be checked by logging into the website of Urban Gas 20 days after submission. (website of Urban Gas www.gas800.com)

Formatting and Requirements

1. Title, which summarizes the main content of the news.
2. Introduction, which is the opening paragraph and requires the most basic content of the news to be summarized in extremely concise words.
3. Main text, which is the main part of the news and requires specific and clear expression, detailed content, and well-arranged structure.
4. Ending, which is a brief summary of the news content; some news may not have an ending.
5. Signature, including the unit name and personal name.
