To accurately assess the consumption intentions and key influencing factors of residential gas sales?related extended services in Shanghai’s Qingpu District, thereby helping gas enterprises optimize their service strategies and align with the demands of market?oriented transformation, this study takes the Theory of Planned Behavior as its core framework, introduces five latent variables—service cognition, safety perception, price sensitivity, trust, and convenience—and constructs an influence mechanism model for consumption intention. Using literature review, questionnaire surveys, mathematical statistics, and structural equation modeling (SEM), empirical analysis was conducted on 300 gas users in Qingpu District. The results indicate that service cognition, trust, and convenience have significant positive effects on consumption intention; safety perception exerts an indirect influence on consumption intention through trust; and price sensitivity has a significant negative effect. Based on these findings, strategies such as service popularization, safety management, and differentiated pricing are proposed, providing practical guidance for enhancing the quality of extended services and upgrading the regional gas service system.
